So… why can’t “her quail” be “her dinner”?

   Good point. She just loves all the critters on our property and seems to consider them (the quail) protected I guess. She grew up eating wild game and continues to do so. Raccons, coyotes, rodents and other vermin she seems to have no qualms when I kill them. Just the quail. If I shoot them on the property next to us she's good with it. Same quail (A typical covey of California quail has about 200 acres as their territory). They roam around all the properties around here but we have prime nesting and wintering habitat. I kinda get her wanting to keep our property as a safe haven for them.
